🇺🇸 Update for Our U.S. Customers — Important Shipping & Tariff Changes

Hello from Australia! We want to keep you fully informed about how recent changes with Australia Post and U.S. import rules may affect your order.

What’s Changing & Why

As of 29 August 2025, major U.S. import rules changed. One of the biggest impacts: the “de minimis” exemption (which allowed many low‑value parcels to enter the U.S. duty‑free) has been removed.

All tariffs and shipping costs are pre-calculated at checkout, and all shipping options have resumed. We have absorbed as many of the costs as possible.

Our wonderful planet creates these beautiful Opals, so we want to return the favour and do our best to look after her! All the packaging used at Jackson Opals is completely 100% recyclable, compostable, zero-waste packaging- we endeavour to be completely plastic-free.  

Shipping policy

All orders are processed within 1 to 2 business days (excluding weekends and public holidays) after receiving your order confirmation email. You will receive another notification when your order has shipped.

All orders are distributed using Australia Post. 

Tax & Import Liabilities

Please note that Jackson Opals does not cover import liabilities that may be imposed by the government of the destination country. Jackson Opals accepts no responsibility for customs delays, duties, or taxes that may apply in the destination country. 

Unfortunately, Jackson Opals cannot be responsible for any lost or missing deliveries. Please inform us of any issues, and we will file a dispute on your behalf, as photo evidence can be requested from Australia Post. If you wish to add insurance to your parcel, please let us know, as it will not be included unless requested and will incur an extra charge to the customer. 

Domestic Shipping Rates

We offer a $10 flat rate for Standard shipping and $15 Express to all locations within Australia. 

We offer free Shipping on all orders over $400.00

If you’d like extra peace of mind when ordering an item, you can add Extra Cover. It provides loss or damage cover up to the specified value of your item (up to $5,000) while it’s being carried by Australia Post.

Shipping charges for your order will be calculated and displayed at checkout.

How do I check the status of my order?

When your order has shipped, you will receive an email notification from us which will include a tracking number you can use to check its status. Please allow 48 hours for the tracking information to become available. 

If you haven’t received your order within the allocated days of receiving your shipping confirmation email, please contact us at info@jacksonopals.com with your name and order number, and we will look into it for you.
