We're almost 2 years old!

After a long career in ICT sales (Still my 9-5) my dad set me a challenge on Jan 16th 2021 to sell a couple of opals "put your money where your mouth is Pep" Of course, I accepted the challenge. Though I had been around opals my entire life, I had no idea where to start. So I pulled out a DSLR camera I had never used before (Or any camera for that matter) and took a few pics to list them on Facebook Market Place. I was so excited to sell my first opal within 2 days to a lovely lady in my own country town in the Adelaide Hills, what a surprise!

Fast forward, it's January 2nd 2023, a new year and I reflect on the past 18 months with such fulfilment, what a way Jackson Opals has come. From a crazy little challenge by my dad and then to me convincing myself, I could totally digitise this, to an amazing online community of over 5000 worldwide.

I have grown so much closer with my dad and brother, and I really couldn't be more thankful. I cherish all our opal talk around my parent's dinner table & Meeting such knowledgeable opal advocates and talented jewellers.

One of the highlights over the past 2 years is the 2 trips to Cobber Pedy, about 8 hour's drive from home in Adelaide.

We always have such an incredible time, chatting, laughing and working with opal enthusiasts. It's always a packed house at the Jacksons Booth :)

So a little note from me, Penny, if you followed, liked, commented, saved or interacted with an Instagram/Facebook post, THANK YOU. If you've become a Jackson Opals customer, THANK YOU, if I chatted to you about opals, THANK YOU, as I have grown, learnt and appreciated every interaction I've had along this 2-year journey, and I can't wait to see what happens next!
